With extensive experience in management, community development, and program implementation, Willhemina has dedicated her career to improving outcomes for Aboriginal communities across Australia.<\/p>

Her professional journey includes senior roles such as National Remote Training Coordinator and Regional Aboriginal Health Worker Manager, where she has designed and delivered impactful programs addressing health, employment, and mental well-being. A respected advisor and trainer, Willhemina has worked with government, private organisations, and community groups on initiatives such as the Regional Aboriginal Employment Strategy and the Family Futures Program, recognised as a best-practice model in Aboriginal health.<\/p>

Passionate about cultural preservation and advocacy, Willhemina served as a Western Australian Delegate for the National Stolen Generations Alliance, contributing to national truth-telling, justice, and healing efforts. Her commitment to this cause is deeply personal, as a survivor of child removal, which fuels her drive to create positive change.<\/p>

In addition to her leadership role, Willhemina continues to consult on diverse projects, including mental health training, cultural advisory roles, and online e-learning initiatives. Kate most recently served as an Adult Community Corrections Officer with the Department of Justice. There, she played a key role in offender supervision and rehabilitation, contributing to improved community safety and reduced recidivism through compassionate, evidence-based approaches.<\/p>

Laura Elkin is a Koori woman who lives on Noongar Country in Perth. Laura has travelled across Western Australia in advocacy roles supporting Aboriginal patients, families, communities, organisations, health and other front-line workers for the past twenty years. She is a trainer and assessor who has worked in community engagement, patient advocacy, complaints management, consumer evaluation and co-design. She has worked with mainstream health and community services seeking to improve Cultural safety in service delivery for Aboriginal families. Laura is passionate about protecting Culture and Country. Having been impacted by Stolen Generations past practises, she is a strong advocate for Cultural healing and reconnection. Laura is a Licensed Master Instructor and delivers several specialised accredited Mental Health First Aid Australia courses, as well as Deadly Thinking Youth. Maureen is a descendent of the Baad & Nimunburr Nation on the Dampier Peninsula in the West Kimberley region, and Jaru in the East Kimberley Region of Western Australia. Maureen spent more than twenty years in government in WA and the NT and has extensive experience in health programs, projects and management. Equally, she has worked in the Aboriginal Community sector, and non-government senior and executive roles for over twenty years and can communicate with a broad range of audiences. She has extensive governance knowledge and experience and is a current Director Community Housing Ltd, Aboriginal Community Housing Ltd and Joonbarn Buru Aboriginal Corporation. Maureen currently works for Mt Gibson Iron as the Youth & Community Engagement Officer in Derby and has increased the sponsorship footprint, community engagement and profile in the area. At 52 years old, Karyn is the founder of Perfectly Imperfect Consulting and Waterlily Healing Indigenous Corporation, through which she delivers culturally tailored mental health and suicide awareness programs. With over 40 years of lived experience, I have built a dynamic career across multiple industries, living and working throughout Australia, with a strong connection to the Northern Territory. My professional journey has spanned hairdressing, clothing manufacturing, retail management, hospitality, and leadership roles in the non-profit sector. I have also held management positions in international charity organizations, where I have been dedicated to creating meaningful impact, fostering community development, and supporting those in need.<\/p>

After earning my Certificate in Aboriginal Mental Health First Aid, I have had the privilege of delivering training programs in both remote communities and urban areas across the Northern Territory. Tayissa recently joined the ICG team as the youngest facilitator in the Deadly Thinking Youth Program. Tayissa is well know within the community for amazing netball skills which has seen her travel over east, to Bali and to new Zealand to represent her south pacific roots as well as the peel regions. Tayissa graduated in 2023 winning the Long Tan award for leadership. During her time at school she held numerous leadership roles both within her education and also the netball academy which saw her captain her teams from years 8 to year 10 when she then began coaching and mentoring younger girls. Tayissa has always held a passion for helping people of all works of life on their journeys. In her current role as a Tobacco Action Worker with Bega Garnbirringu Health Service, she delivers personalised, culturally informed support to individuals and families on their tobacco cessation journeys. Her work is grounded in a client-first approach, incorporating education, follow-up, and tailored strategies to help people reduce or quit smoking.<\/span><\/p>

Amber\u2019s commitment to mental health and wellbeing is evident in her training and experience. She is a certified Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander Mental Health First Aid Trainer and has completed trauma-informed care and de-escalation training. Through her ongoing involvement in youth programs, Amber provides informal support, crisis response, and mentoring for young people\u2014often stepping into the Youth Support Worker role as needed.<\/span><\/p>

With over 28 years of professional experience in the field, he has delivered strategic and impactful outcomes across a broad range of health, education, community, corporate and Indigenous affairs projects.\u00a0<\/p>

With a strong foundation in executive leadership, strategy, corporate governance, financial management and stakeholder engagement, James creates innovative and workable solutions to complex issues in a timely manner.<\/p>

His respectful, enthusiastic and engaging leadership approach brings people together.\u00a0 He builds deep and inclusive relationships across diverse stakeholders including corporate, government, community, not-for-profit and Indigenous groups.<\/p>

James was the inaugural CEO for Reconciliation WA, which he led for over 7 years until December 2019.\u00a0 Under James\u2019 custodianship, Reconciliation WA established a reputation as a professional, effective and financially sustainable peak body. Reconciliation WA is now highly valued in the community delivering mutually beneficial value to members and partners of Reconciliation WA and the broader WA community.\u00a0 James has held various voluntary leadership roles on the Rottnest Island Channel Swim Association, including as Race Director and Vice President.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
