First Nations Australians face a higher incidence of mental health issues compared to the non-Indigenous population, driven by historical trauma, social and economic disadvantages, and barriers to culturally appropriate mental health care. ICG specialises in First Nations mental health\u00a0with a large team of First Nations facilitators and specialists.\u00a0By combining our expertise with a deep respect for cultural practices and community-focused interventions, we address these unique challenges effectively.<\/p>

Our MHFA (Mental Health First Aid) and AMHFA (Aboriginal Mental Health First Aid) courses provide individuals with the knowledge and skills to\u00a0be able to effectively recognise mental health crises,\u00a0offer initial support and guide those experiencing mental health challenges towards professional assistance.<\/p>

ICG’s approach is distinguished by incorporating cultural competencies and sensitivities into our courses, ensuring participants gain a comprehensive understanding of mental health issues in both Indigenous and non-Indigenous contexts. This understanding is crucial for providing support that respects the cultural and social nuances of First Nations Australians while also being effective for non-Indigenous individuals.<\/p>

As we continue to deliver MHFA and AMHFA courses, our goal is to make mental health services accessible, culturally informed, and effective for all Australians.
